I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
